My name is Victoria Kakueva. I am an animal artist  from Canada with Slavic roots. I create realistic paintings using traditional media such as watercolor and acrylics.  I get inspired by the beauty of nature and the diversity of wildlife and try to capture it on paper (or canvas).

As long as I remember myself I was obsessed with drawing. When I was a kid all I did was doodle different animals in my sketchbooks. Seeing that I don't let a pencil out of my hands, my parents have sent me soon to an art school where I studied for 8 years. Then I moved to Canada and got a bachelor's degree in animation 2D and 3D. I have never regretted the choice of my studies. After graduation I didn’t pursue a career in animation, but I became an author of children’s picture books. The knowledge I got during my studies ensured my skills in character design and writing.

Currently, I'm living in Montreal and making a living through my books and art, selling original paintings and printed copies. You can buy my paintings online and in several in-store locations across Canada. Besides, I accept requests for commissioned paintings, such as pet portraits and other.
